POWER POINT ELECTRICIAN
Electrical Power Point Installation
Many HDB flats, condominiums and landed homes need additional power points to support present-day appliances, work-from-home equipment and entertainment systems. We install new power points and relocate or replace existing ones according to the room layout and available circuit capacity.
Before installation, we consider the intended appliance, point location, existing wiring and whether a dedicated circuit may be required. This helps produce a safer and more practical result than relying on multiple extension leads or adapters.
Residential Power Point Installation
Power points can be added or relocated during renovation, or installed as a standalone improvement. We help plan convenient positions for bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, study spaces and service yards while considering furniture, cabinetry and appliance locations.
Different uses may require different solutions. Outdoor or moisture-prone locations need suitable equipment, while higher-load appliances may require a dedicated circuit. We inspect the existing arrangement and explain what is appropriate before providing a quotation.
Electrical power-point installation should not be treated as a DIY task. Correct wiring, secure connections and suitable circuit protection are essential for safe operation.

Power Point Repairs and Maintenance
We repair and replace loose, cracked, discoloured or non-working power points. We can also assess whether additional points would reduce dependence on overloaded extension leads and adapters.
Sparks
A brief internal flash can sometimes occur when a high-load appliance is connected or disconnected, but repeated or strong sparking may indicate a loose connection or damaged power point. Stop using the point and arrange an inspection.
Warm or Hot Power Points
A power point that becomes unusually warm may be overloaded or have a poor connection. Disconnect appliances if it is safe to do so and do not continue using the point until it has been checked.
Cracks, Discolouration or Loose Fittings
Damaged faceplates, scorch marks and loose sockets can expose live parts or allow connections to deteriorate. Replacement should be arranged promptly.
No Power
A dead power point may be caused by the accessory itself, a loose connection, an affected circuit or a tripped protective device. We test the point and circuit to locate the cause before carrying out repairs.
Place Power Points Where They Will Be Used
The most convenient position for a new socket depends on the furniture plan and the appliance it will serve. A point hidden behind a cabinet or stretched behind a heavy appliance may be difficult to use or inspect later. Before installation, tell us what will be plugged in, whether the equipment is fixed or movable and how the space will be finished. We can review the existing circuit and discuss a suitable location and wiring route.
In a study, sockets may need to support desks and charging without a tangle of adaptors. In kitchens, the position should account for cabinetry, worktop appliances and access after installation. Service yards and sheltered external spaces bring different environmental considerations. The Energy Market Authority’s electrical safety advice warns against overloading power points and using cracked or broken outlets.
Adding, Moving or Replacing?
A replacement is appropriate when the location works but the fitting is damaged or worn. Relocation is useful when a renovation changes how a room is used. An additional point may reduce reliance on extension leads, but the available circuit capacity and proposed load should be checked first. Our electrical wiring service covers related circuit work, and our water-heater point page addresses that specific fixed-appliance need.
Watch for Damage
Stop using a socket that is cracked, loose, discoloured, unusually warm or repeatedly sparks. Do not cover damage with an adaptor or continue using a fitting that has lost power. We can inspect the point and affected circuit, then explain whether the fitting or a wider connection needs repair. If you send photos for an initial quotation, take them only from a safe distance without opening the fitting.
Where several outlets are requested, mark the desired positions on a photo or floor plan. It is easier to review them together than to quote each point without considering the circuit and wiring route. The assessment may show that some locations need a different approach to stay practical and safe.
